Coronavirus - guidance on attending Podiatry appointments
If you are over 70, immunocompromised or pregnant, and need a routine nail cut or general treatment, we can rearrange your appointment free of charge. Please consider official advice that if you are in one of these categories, it is best that you only attend appointments that are essential. We understand that you may not be attending any podiatry appointments at this time.
If you do decide to attend your appointment, please ensure that you do not have a new and persistent cough, temperature, or feel unwell. You will be asked to confirm this at your appointment, and also confirm that you have not been in contact with anyone who has had symptoms. We need to do this because we have many clients who are in a high risk category.
Unfortunately, it may be necessary for us to close if any member of staff becomes unwell, or if someone has entered the premises with symptoms.
We continue to ask that everyone who comes to the premises makes sure to carefully wash their hands and/or use hand sanitiser upon arriving. We have some hand sanitiser available at the reception desk for clients to use.
In addition to this, we have rearranged appointments to allow time between clients to limit your contact with other people, and so that we can implement social distancing as much as possible.
We continue to be vigilant with our cleaning procedures but in view of
the coronavirus outbreak, we have increased the cleaning frequency of all items that are commonly touched i.e. door handles, card machines, light switches, treatment chairs etc. We will be taking the same hygienic precautions that we do every day including using disposable gloves and disposable aprons, wiping down all surfaces between clients, using a fresh set of sterilised instruments per client, and thoroughly cleaning at the end of each day. Handwashing facilities, alcohol gel and tissues will be available for you to use should you require.
This is the current advice from our Professional Podiatry body as of Tuesday 17th March, however this may change at any time with immediate effect. If we do need to close we will let you know as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and support at this difficult time.
We hope you keep well.
